Raw Fall Honey (Shelterbelt Farm)

This is pure raw honey, the best food and medicine invented by nature, gathered by our bees in Brooktondale. It is minimally filtered and never heated, so it retains its live enzymes. Honey is like wine; different every season depending on weather and nectar flows. This honey has a dark color and a smoky floral flavor, and is most likely a mix of goldenrod, knapweed, knotweed, buckwheat, clover, and other flowers. Honey is the one food that never ever spoils (unless it gets water in it, in which case it will ferment). Raw honey is often quick to crystallize, especially Fall honey. Ours has crystallized into a lovely spreadable texture, like honey butter. If you prefer liquid honey you can gently warm it by setting the honey jar into a pot of warm water. This honey is packaged in a reusable glass jar.

Ginger Syrup (Shelterbelt Farm)

We start with our own baby ginger and steep it in a simple syrup made with cane sugar and our honey. The result is a tasty and versatile treat. But you can use this syrup to add a zing of flavor to just about anything, from ice cream to pancakes to curried dishes.

Aronia Cordial (Shelterbelt Farm)

This divine juice concentrate is similar to an old-fashioned soft drink known as "shrub" - basically fruit juice combined with honey, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and lemon juice. It is designed to be added to fizzy water to create homemade soda. Aronia is considered a "superfruit" with higher amounts of antioxidants than blueberries, and many anti-cancer and anti-diabetic properties. Our aronia cordial is also good in cocktails. Try the Aronia Fizz, a combination of aronia cordial, elderflower liqueur, vodka, and fizzy water.
